So yesterday I took this diet profile quiz and to no surprise apparently I'm an EMOTIONAL EATER!!! No surprise, no surprise.
It's crazy - it's like I could have a perfectly "good" day and somewhere along the line I'll have this insatiable craving to just stuff my face!!! It's so glutenous and downright gross....
Sigh.....then the guilt kicks in.
Sometimes i fall off the wagon - but i try to get right back in.
How do you motivate yourself to exercise on a rainy, gloomy day.....?
I'm just checkin' in y'all.....

I know exactly how you feel, it is a difficult thing to break, but we can do it! Ever since I was a kid I've always been rewarded or rewarded myself with food. Every social event, fun, past time, whatever, seems to revolve around food. Having a bad day? EAT! Having a good day, EAT! It does make you feel better, atleast temporarily. Then there is the guilt you mention - ahh we have all been there!!
I'm trying to work on my cravings, its hard but I think the biggest challenge I face is all mental, and I am trying to really understand why I turn to food - sweets so much. My goal is to really question myself now, "why do I really want that" and answer it before I eat out of impulse.
Keeping a food log with my daily journal is a habit I am just started and even if its short notes, it really has helped me the last few days avoid the office candy bowl.
About motivation to exercise - try to find things YOU like to do that is fun. If you don't know yet, try things add music, be creative, just make it fun. I just read somewhere that when starting an exercise program, start with 3 days a week - that way you know you will reach that goal. Then gradually add more. My biggest challenges have been giving up an entire week of exercise simply because I felt I was having a "fat" week.
But I'm no expert, anyone else out there with some input?
Argggh!!! Just had 2 hershey kisses, a jolly rancher, 2 pieces of bubble gum, 2 cups of coffee... man, what a day, and that was all BEFORE lunch!
HELP! Its like I was in a daze when I grabbed them. One by one..this is pretty tough. I need to find something that satisfies my sweet tooth, but w/o all that sugar!
Today was a bad day - Lean cuisine gone wrong!!!
I had an unfortunate encounter with a foreign Swedish Meatball frozen entree.
It seemed like something quick and much better than McDonald's in comparison....but probaby not the BEST choice.
So today - it's been crackers, watered down flavorless soup and gatorade/water.
If i'm sick most of the week - this diet is gonna be a blast...right!?
Bring on the WEIGH IN!!!!!
lol...slightly sarcastic until next time.
Swedish meatballs are better than McDonalds, but the rest of your day will probably balance out. I'm so use to comparing everything to weight watcher points, that way I dont get too worked up if I eat something high calorie. Just try and balance the rest of the day out...veggies, water, etc. That's what I said this morning....then my job had "Breakfast Club" AKA stuff your face fat fest!
It was rough, I had a big apple danish-like bagel from Atlanta Bread Company, plus a piece of another danish like thing, a little egg casserole, and cream cheese. I think I used up a whole bunch of points! I didnt feel too bad.. THEN.., but then now I have less points left for the weekend :(
I'm gonna try to work out tonite and tomorrow AM, but I'm still fighting a craving for Pizza! I don't even have to look it up - it will but me in a weight watcher point defecit for sure! Who can only eat one slice?? Now I feel like I should have eaten in moderation this morning, and really had that Pizza tonite. Ahh the choices! If anyone has figuired this out, let me know an easier way.
I've been so sick lately - so liquids have been my friend. Hopefully I'll be back up to speed soon. Jello has been my friend. What's up with all the sickness this year ya'll?
Just dropping in....
Hope u feel better Lady G. Good think you are keeping hydrated. Hope u get better soon. Eventhough you have been sick, how did you do overall last week?
I did okay...not great. I'm still having some issues with my new day your way plan - but i hope to get better at it. New goal to work towards: Fitting into a decent Bridesmaid's dress. AHHHHH!!!!
Are you following the slim fast plan? I couldnt manage it, didnt feel like it was enough to keep me full and the slimfast shakes don't really agree w/ me anymore. I'm still having issues w/ snacking..using my extra WW points on junk! Hang in there!
I had one shake and i admit - it had me feeling a little off yesterday. Now that my appetite is BACK....i wanna stuff my face again. So i've been eating the healthy snacks and all.
I still haven't tackled meat again after a week!
My problem is i'm so g.d. LAZY!!!!!!! I'm not lounging on the couch....cuz i'm so busy...but still lazy all the same. (sigh)
Have you tried using a pedometer at work to get some more steps in? Since we are working 8 or more hours a day, what about taking 10-15 minute break for a brisk walk in or out of the office? I see coworkers do it all the time in our building, or I've even started going up and down the stairs 1 time each time I have to use the ladies room (the stairs are right there). Once you get started w/ any workout routine, you'll see how much easier it will be to get energy and go. I had a trainer tell me that even when u don't feel like exercising, go on the treadmill or walk for 10 minutes and if you still don't feel like it, then stop. But guaranteed your adrenaline will get pumping and you will go past the 10 minutes. Did that help any?
